So... I've Moved To China

So, after my long hiatus, I can finally tell you what I have been doing with my time. Firstly, I graduated with a first, yay! And secondly, I have moved to China!

I was travelling around Japan for 2 weeks, but have now settled in my flat in China. I am living in a third tier city with about three million people, which is actually quite small for China. I absolutely loved travelling around Japan, but I love having a base that I can call home.

The choice to move to China came pretty easily. I had finished uni and was faced with the dreaded existential crisis of “What am I going to do now?” and a lot of my ideas just weren’t going to pay the bills. So, I had to sit back and rethink the next few years of my life.

Of course, being a journalism major and having written four books, I love English. It is pretty much my life. So, the idea of teaching English in China seemed to fit pretty well. I can travel for free and I can teach whilst doing it, brilliant!

As with everything, there is a downside. I miss my family and my friends, as well as my pets. But, the fellow teachers here have been so wonderful and welcoming that I only really feel homesick just in those moments before I go to sleep, and even then it is more the people I miss than the place.
I haven’t been in China for long, but I can already tell that the people are exceedingly kind and are very willing to go out of their way to make sure that you are well and safe. It is a little daunting, living in a country where I don’t speak the language. But, the local people have made the transition that little bit easier.

I am going to have so much to write and make youtube videos about now that I have opened a new chapter of my life! I would love to hear what you guys think about my move and whether you would ever move so far away from home.

Also, let me know what kind of content you want to see from me in the coming months, because I want to make sure that I am giving you the material that you will enjoy!

Until next time,
Stay peachy,
Paige xx
